Who we are
SOLA-LITE is a trade name of SunDog Inc, a daylighting and skylight contractor serving Southern California (CSLB Lic. #953443). This policy describes how we handle personal information for our customers and for visitors to this site.
What we collect
We collect the information needed to quote, schedule, and complete your project and to keep our records straight: your name, address, phone number, and email; details about your property relevant to the work (roof type, room measurements, photos of the work area); job, quote, and invoice history; payment information (processed securely by our payment processor, Stripe — we receive only the payment outcome, the amount, and tokenized references that cannot be reversed into your full account details); and records of our communications with you. Calls to our business line may be recorded, and voicemails transcribed, so we can follow up accurately.
How we use your information
To provide our services: preparing quotes, ordering materials, scheduling visits and installations, collecting payment, honoring warranties, and sending service communications about your project — appointment reminders, quote and invoice links, payment requests, and follow-ups on quotes you have requested. Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link, and we honor it.
Text messages (SMS)
When you request service, we ask how you would like to hear from us — email, text message, or both — and record that choice. If you agree to texts, we send service messages about your project: appointment reminders, quote links, invoice and payment links, and similar updates you would expect as part of the service you requested. If you separately agree to it, we may also send an invitation to review your experience.
Message frequency varies with your project’s activity. Message and data rates may apply. Consenting to texts is never a condition of purchase. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts, or reply HELP for help. Full details are in our Text Message Terms & Conditions.
What we share — and don’t
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that make our business run: Stripe (payments), Amazon Web Services (hosting, email delivery, and phone-system infrastructure), our field-service and accounting software, and material suppliers when a custom order requires your project specifications. Each receives only what its role requires. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Retention and security
We keep job and payment records for as long as we operate the business — warranty work years later depends on them. Data is stored on access-controlled systems, and payment credentials are held by Stripe, not by us.
Your rights (California)
California residents may ask us what personal information we hold about them, request a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — subject to records we must keep for warranty, tax, or legal reasons. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising these rights. To make a request, call 760-779-5591 or email showroom@sola-lite.com.
In the preceding 12 months we have collected these categories of personal information:
- Identifiers — name, postal address, phone number, email address.
- Commercial information — quotes, jobs, purchase history, and service records.
- Financial information — payment records and tokenized account references (payment credentials themselves are held by Stripe, not by us).
- Audio and visual information — recorded business-line calls, voicemails, and job-site photos.
We collect them for the purposes described above and disclose them for business purposes only to the categories of recipients listed under “What we share.” We have not sold personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Changes
If our practices change, we will update this page and its effective date.
